Or is the NFL season really a quarter over? Week four has come and gone in the NFL and the league is still “jumpin”. Detroit and Green Bay are undefeated and still rolling. Green Bay put a butt whipping on Denver, and Detroit came from behind to defeat the Cowboys. There is no truth to the rumor that Detroit voted the game ball to Tony Romo, the Dallas quarterback. Romo threw two interceptions for touchdowns and was ineffective at the end of the game, again. Romo played 2 ½ good quarters and then the wheels fell off. You have to wonder if Tony Romo is the guy you want in there in a pressure situation?
Speaking of pressure, how is the dream team doing in Philadelphia? The Eagles were ordained as the dream team during the preseason because of the personnel added and the moves they made. That dream has turned in to a one and three nightmare. And yes Vick we want you to tell us how you feel after blowing a lead to the 49’ers and dropping back into the basement of the NFC east.
The Panthers’ rookie quarterback, Cam Newton, threw for over three hundred yards and lost the game. It appears that the Panthers can only win when Cam throws for less than two hundred yards. Go figure.
Mark Sanchez and the Jets are another puzzling combo. They were world-beaters the first two weeks of the season and on the wrong side of a beating the last two weeks. The Raiders and the Ravens put it to the Jets, maybe they shouldn’t play teams that begin with an “R”. Or is Sanchez in over his head, he seems to do well with the stripped down modified offense that the Jets use during the playoffs, but he makes “Romo“ like decisions during the season with the entire offensive package. By the way Coach Ryan, New York Jets, you’re a defensive specialist…when are we going to see something special out of your defense?
Donovan McNabb, quarterback, and the Minnesota Vikings are 0-4 and fading fast. They have blown leads in several of their games, leading us to wonder if Coach Leslie is preparing the team properly. McNabb, who was booted out of Philadelphia and Washington appears to be on a short leash and may be benched. We are watching.
Is Peyton Manning, quarterback, the MVP in abstention? The Colts are horrible without him and will probably get the first pick in the draft. Hmmm do they draft a quarterback? I hear that kid from Stanford is pretty good. Or do they keep the faith and hope Manning makes a full recovery?
NFL teams continue to adjust and shape their rosters;

Or is Tiger Woods still slumping? Tiger has dropped out of the top 50 in the world rankings for the first time since 1996. Tiger who hasn’t won a tournament in two years continues to slide. This ends a streak of 778 straight weeks in the top 50 for Tiger. The good news is that he returns to competition this week and has a chance at turning things around. Good Luck Tiger!

Or enough already with Kobe Bryant going or staying? There have been peace treaties signed in less time and with less pomp than Kobe’s pending contract in the Italian basketball league. Kobe who spent several years in Italy, his father played there, speaks Italian fluently and would be treated like a victorious roman general returning home.
So Kobe make the deal, take the family, go play thirty or forty games against weaker competition and enjoy a paid working vacation.

Or does baseball not get it? Kids will not follow a sport if they can’t watch the games. Play some day games during the playoffs. You just had an exciting end to the regular season, ride the wave and make the best of it. These night games start and end too late for the little guys-Wake Up baseball!!!!!!
We’ll cover Baseball next week when the championships are being decided for each league. We’re old school!!!!

Or did Victor Cruz get away with a fumble? NY Giant wide receiver Victor Cruz was ruled down by ‘submission’ by NFL officials after he tripped and left the ball on the field. The Cardinals claimed it was a fumble and they were entitled to the ball. The officials ruled otherwise and the Giants scored and eventually won the game. Note to Cruz, hand the ball to the official after you HEAR the whistle.
